JetFighter IV Update 4Windows 2000 Keyboard Problem - Keyboard response in the simulator on Windows 2000 was sometimes over 1 minute delayed! This problem has been fixed for Windows 2000 users.Main Menu Background Garbled on ATI Graphics Hardware - Main menu background looked 'crazy' on some ATI graphics hardware. For some reason, certain ATI graphics hardware, particularly that found in laptops, use a ARGB1555 framebuffer instead of the much more common (and better looking) RGB565. This problem should be corrected for all such hardware.HUD Text Solid Blocks on ATI Hardware - On some ATI boards, the text in the simulator shows up as solid blocks. This problem should be solved for all ATI hardware. Please send us an email if your HUD text still shows up as solid blocks.Force Feedback - The new simulator will detect and use a force feedback joystick if one is available.USB Throttle Support - Some USB throttles were not being used properly in the simulator. Newer throttles changed the 'axis' that data is available from.

The version attempts to determine the correct axis automatically. If this does not work, there is a setting available in JF4.INI to override the default behavior of the throttle.The settings are as follows:In the Sim Controls section of JF4.INI, the 'throttleAxis' setting controls how the simulator will access the throttle:- throttleAxis 0 Automatically detect the correct axis. Should work with 99% of all throttles.- throttleAxis 1 Use the 'lZ' value, this will support 'old style' sticks and throttles.- throttleAxis 2 Use the rglSlider0 value. This will support 'new style' sticks and throttles.Stuttering Sounds When Launched from AutoPlay - On some systems, the sound would stutter and sound garbled when the game was launched from the autoplay application on the CD. When running via the start menu, sounds were OK.We believe DirectSound does not initialize properly on some machines when the CD-ROM drive is the 'current directory.'

The AutoPlay program has been modified to set the current directory to where JetFighter IV is installed. Current users should simply launch JetFighter IV from the Start Menu to avoid this problem. I bought Jetfighter4 because it apparently will run on XP, according to the words written in English on the label.

I'm wondering how come I can't get it to run on my PC that exeeds the requirements for the game. Will it actually run on XP or was I just another victim of false advertisment that seems to run out of control in this country? I sure would like to know how to sell something that doesnt work and make a few million in the process, but then again, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night because I have this little drawback in life, it's called HONESTY. Well, to all you frusertated XP users. I bought this game for 5 bucks at staples.

Went home and installed it on XP. IT didn't work-instead of flipping out, I merely followed these simple instructions and have been enjoying JFIV since then. I give full credit to larry whitaker for the instructions. go to 'Play Jet Fighter 4right clickscroll to propertiesonce in properties click 'find target'look for INI file or Configuration Settings.once opened scroll down to simuseloader thread AGAIN change the 1 to a 0(zero) then 'save as'restart game. This game is alot of fun EVEN with the bugs. AFTER youve figured out the 'HIT BUG' its a blast.If you have XP DO NOT start loading in the 'so called game patches'.they dont work and have never worked correctly.If your game freezes/locks complelely uninstall it(manual removal of all jf4 files)then reload it with the instructions in my prior post.For 5$ how wrong can you go????Play some offline games to get the basics down and we hope to see you in a room!!!!!oh and set up your joystick BEFORE you enter the room LOLOLOLOLOLOL JK SLASH.

I found out how to fix it though, so I thought I'd help you out. Your are getting this error because your graphics card doesn't support the resolution you set (I believe, but don't kill me if I'm wrong). Try starting the game, going into options, and changing your resolution to the lowest setting, and if that works for you, just keep working you way up until you find the one that you like best and works.
